"All who have meditated on the art of governing mankind have been convinced that the fate of empires depends on the education of youth.” - Aristotle
We’ve mentioned what makes us unique already: our campus, community, and curriculum. Thanks to these attributes, Oak Hill students have a dynamic learning environment in which to explore and quench their curiosities. But this overview is really the beginning. Oak Hill students become critical thinkers, considerate leaders, and responsible stewards of our global community because they participate in their education with caring and considerate educators. The relationships students share with their teachers promote academic risk-taking and personal success. Oak Hill students have a lot of attributes; being passive recipients of an education is not one of them!
In the younger grades, teachers integrate foreign languages and the arts thematically into academic instruction. In the older grades, faculty members not only cultivate exposure to every core subject, but they also challenge students to pursue special interests and stretch to be the best versions of themselves academically and personally. Learning occurs in the classroom, on the school grounds, on stage, on the court, and even traveling abroad. Whether in Kindergarten or twelfth grade, Oak Hill students stand out and are recognized for their unique interests, personalities, and talents.
Oak Hill’s academic program is demanding. It is not for everyone, but those students who are up for the challenge will have the opportunity to learn alongside great and positive minds in dynamic ways that, if they don’t watch out, can change their lives! While each classroom on campus looks different, the faculty’s overarching goals are the same: to inspire lifelong learners out of Oak Hill’s motivated student body and to prepare students to be successful in college and beyond. Because of these goals, the academic calendar is demanding, but woven into the school week are opportunities for exploration and risk-taking in the arts and in character development.
