“The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.” – Alvin Toffler
Each of our six academic departments offers traditional core courses. Our comprehensive curriculum fosters broad exposure to all disciplines, while also offering you an opportunity to discover and pursue your special areas of interest. We expect our students to take full advantage of the richness of this curriculum; however, be aware that you can’t do everything, so you will learn to make choices. As you plan your time at Oak Hill, in consultation with your parents, advisor, and, at the appropriate time, college counselor, your discussions will include considerations of balance and quality as well as adventure and excitement.
The Upper School curriculum includes increased choice and independence, a laptop program for students in grades 11 and 12, and:
- Language Arts
- Mathematics
- History
- Science
- Foreign Language – Spanish and French
- Arts Electives
- Academic Electives
- Physical Education
- Advising
- Character Education
- College Counseling
- Service Learning
